Morrowplate Privacy Policy

Morrowplate is a meal-planning app developed by Gerard Gomez. This policy explains the information it uses, the Apple services involved, and your choices.

Some features work on your device. Private iCloud storage synchronizes saved content, and optional Apple Private Cloud Compute processes supported AI requests. These are separate services; not all app information stays on your device.

Information you provide and save

Morrowplate uses your profile display name and optional photo; food preferences, allergies, ingredients to avoid, and goals; household size and cooking routine; meal-planning notes; recipes and images; favorites and groceries; and meals you plan, mark eaten, or skip. This information supports planning, saved content, and meal-history insights. Recipe nutrition values are estimates, and your meal log may not represent everything you eat.

There is no separate Morrowplate account. Apple Account settings control access to iCloud and App Store purchases.

Your device and private iCloud storage

The app saves content on your device. When iCloud is available and enabled, it also synchronizes your profile name and photo, food preferences including allergies, cooking routine, recipes and images, favorites, groceries, previous menus, and dated meal plans and eaten/skipped states through your private iCloud database.

That database belongs to your Apple Account. The app does not upload these records to a developer-operated storage service or public feed. The developer cannot browse your private database through Apple's developer portal. Apple handles iCloud under its policies and your settings.

Appearance, reminder choices, Apple Intelligence preferences, and bookkeeping for meals exported to Apple Health are stored locally. Device backups and synchronization depend on your Apple settings.

Apple Intelligence and Private Cloud Compute

When available, Morrowplate uses Apple's Foundation Models framework for recipe creation and meal-history insight selection. By default, these requests use Apple's on-device model. Curated planning remains available when AI is unavailable.

If you enable Use Private Cloud Compute, supported planning and insight requests can instead be sent to Apple's Private Cloud Compute. Planning inputs include the meal slot, serving count, cooking time, diet, allergies, avoidances, goals, your food-preference note, and descriptions of existing or recent dishes. Insight inputs include summaries of your Morrowplate meal log, such as meal counts, variety, and recipe-based nutrition estimates. Profile names, profile photos, and readings imported from Apple Health are not supplied to these requests.

Apple states that PCC request content is processed to fulfill the request and is not retained by PCC or made accessible to Apple. Apple may collect limited operational information, such as request size and duration, excluding request/response content and without linking it to your Apple Account. Optional system analytics are controlled by your Apple settings. See Apple Intelligence & Privacy.

Returned recipes and plans can be saved on your device and in private iCloud storage. Turning off the planning setting changes future planning and insight requests; it does not delete saved results. Morrowplate has no developer-operated AI server or separate third-party AI SDK.

Photos and meal images

The system photo picker supplies only the profile photo you select, not general access to your library. The app prepares a smaller copy without copying the original location metadata and saves it with your profile.

For meal images, you can open Apple's Image Playground. Morrowplate supplies the recipe title and ingredients as a food description. You review and accept the result before the app saves it with the recipe; accepted images can sync through private iCloud storage.

On supported OS 27 versions, image creation uses Apple's Private Cloud Compute. Morrowplate disables personalization and does not enable the separate external-provider style there. Earlier supported versions use Apple's available system interface and options. Review any system notices before creating an image. The planning setting does not make image generation offline.

Apple Health

On supported devices, HealthKit access requires your permission. You choose the read and write types in Apple's authorization screen. Requested dietary types include energy, protein, carbohydrates, fats, fiber, sugar, cholesterol, vitamins, minerals, water, and caffeine.

Imported Health readings are used to show daily totals and remain in the app's memory on your device. They are not copied into Morrowplate's iCloud database, included in AI requests or widgets, or sent to the developer.

You can save manually entered nutrition directly to Apple Health. If you enable logged-meal synchronization, meals marked eaten contribute one serving of the available recipe estimates for calories, protein, carbohydrates, and total fat, limited to your permissions. The app keeps local export bookkeeping to avoid duplicating its own meals and reconcile changes where permitted. It does not invent missing nutrients.

Your Morrowplate food preferences and meal log follow the private-iCloud storage described above; they are distinct from imported Health readings. Apple manages any Health synchronization separately. Morrowplate does not use Health information for advertising or sell it.

Review or revoke permissions in Apple Health or system privacy settings. Revoking permission stops future access but does not automatically remove existing Health records. Manage those records separately in Apple Health.

Subscriptions

Apple processes Morrowplate Plus subscription payments. The app verifies subscription and renewal information on your device to provide access and restore purchases. It does not receive payment-card or bank-account details or send transactions to a developer receipt server or third-party purchase SDK. Manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.

Widgets, reminders, and sharing

Widgets use local snapshots shared with the app, containing meal details, recipe images, and summaries from your Morrowplate meal log. Watch features store local state. Reminders use Apple's local notifications with your permission.

Choosing Share grocery list passes the displayed grocery text to Apple's share sheet and the destination you select. That destination handles the information under its own policies. Morrowplate does not automatically publish your content.

Advertising, analytics, and support

The app includes no advertising, third-party analytics, custom crash uploader, or targeted-advertising tracking, and does not send app content to data brokers. Apple provides its system services and diagnostics under its own policies and your choices. See Apple's Privacy Policy. External websites and services opened from the app have their own privacy practices.

If you email support, the developer and email providers receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. Support correspondence is retained as needed to respond and meet applicable obligations. Avoid including sensitive health information or photos unless necessary. Support does not automatically receive access to your private iCloud or Health records.

Retention and your choices

Saved app content remains on your device or in private iCloud storage until removed. Edit supported information in the app, manage iCloud data and access through Apple Account settings, and control Health permissions, notifications, and subscriptions through their Apple settings.

Deleting the app does not necessarily delete iCloud content, copies on other devices, backups, or Health records. Local caches follow the app and system's storage lifecycle. The developer can explain deletion steps but cannot directly inspect or delete your private iCloud or Health records.

Security and policy changes

Morrowplate relies on Apple's platform protections, sandboxing, and permissions. No storage or transmission method is guaranteed completely secure. Keep your device and Apple Account protected.

This policy may change as the app changes. The effective date identifies the latest published version.
